ENNIS, TX (December 9, 2025) --- Heading into 2026 after one of the most successful seasons in Texas Motorplex history, the world famous all-concrete race track and multi-use facility will be looking to expand its family friendly events and races this season. With a long history of hosting some of the biggest drag racing events in the country and on the heels of one of the largest music festivals in the state of Texas last year, the 6th annual Stampede of Speed, October 9-14, will once again feature the fastest motorsports in the world during the 41st Texas Fall Nationals, October 14-18 and the biggest names in country music October 9-11 during the Stars of Texas Music Festival. The track will also host a wide variety of national and regional events including the NHRA Right Trailers Junior Dragster Western Conference Finals.
These two signature national events will be surrounded by nationally recognized multi-day races TX2K26, the NHRA Double Divisional and GT-R Festival. The entire 2026 event schedule was released in advance of the Performance Racing Industry Show in Indianapolis.
“So much planning went into the 40th NHRA Texas Fall Nationals and 5th Stampede of Speed that we are carrying that momentum into 2026,” said Christie Meyer Johnson, Texas Motorplex co-owner. “This is the 75th year of the NHRA so we will be highlighting legends that have impacted the sport in Texas. We are going to continue to work with promoters to bring family friendly regional and national series that keep fans entertained and provide exciting racing action throughout the year.”
“Our goal is to host fun and high value events for the fans and the racers. I love the fact that we will have almost every type of race car on the track in 2026 from bracket cars to trucks to imports to 340 mph Top Fuel dragsters. We are thrilled to have TX2K and Funny Car Chaos back as well as the NHRA Right Trailers Western Conference Junior Dragster Nationals,” said Meyer Johnson. “The return of TX2K26, Funny Car Chaos and GT-R Festival will bolster a strong schedule that has something for everyone in 2026.”

Texas Motorplex will host four bracket events, the season opening event in February, a spring event in April, the mid-season June race and a July event highlighting the best local and regional racers competing for big money.
Recognized as the super bowl of street car events this nearly week-long race returns to Texas Motorplex, TX2K26 will consist of six action-packed days of motorsports, including test-and-tune, qualifying and elimination rounds for drag racing, roll racing and related contests.
Featuring nitro burning cars from Funny Car Chaos and Nitro Chaos, this mega-event is a crowd pleaser. This throwback event highlights the Funny Cars from the past with the thrill of high-speed performance.
The NHRA Lucas Oil Double Divisional will feature the future NHRA stars in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car battling for critical championship points. Four full days of racing action will kick off the summer season.
The Western Conference Junior Dragster Nationals is a major NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League event where young racers from tracks in the western United States compete for individual honors and a team championship. Racers are selected to represent their local tracks and the event features different age categories for participants from 6-17 years old.
The 41st NHRA Texas Fall Nationals will anchor the Stampede of Speed and feature concerts, bull riding, lantern festival, beer expo and racing with more drag racing leading up to the cornerstone event of the Motorplex schedule.
