IMPORT FACE-OFF RESCHEDULED FOR APRIL 27

All Import Drag Race, Car Show and More

ENNIS, Texas (March 10, 2014) – Import Face-Off has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 27 as the first of two feature events at Texas Motorplex was originally canceled because of cold and wet conditions.

Now, the celebration of all things Import has been rescheduled, allowing all import makes and models a chance to show off racing, drifting and stereo skills long before the season finale Import Face-Off on Nov. 9. Cars, trucks and motorcycles each have their own car show and the test-n-tune racing is open to all makes – foreign and domestic.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. and car registration will be held until noon; car show judging starts at 11 a.m.; racer registration begins at 9 a.m. with head up qualifying at 11 a.m. and noon; Racing eliminations start at 1 p.m.; Awards ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m.

EVENT ACTIVITIES:

Car/truck/bike show, ¼-mile drag racing, Drifting hosted by FabricatedMotorsports.com, Usaci double points stereo crank it up contest, burnout contest (time permitting), vendors, pit midway, and live DJ.

ENNIS, Texas (March 5, 2014) – Tickets for the second of six NHRA Championship Mello Yello Drag Racing events – the 29th annual AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals, Sept. 18-21 at Texas Motorplex – are now on sale to the public.

Fans can not only choose which day – or all four – of hot NHRA action they want to witness, but they can also choose exactly which seats they can see and feel the thundering power of 8,000 horsepower vehicles blazing down the concrete Motorplex surface.

Tickets for the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals are now on sale. Get your first choice for the Fall Nationals by ordering now. Fans can also split their entire ticket order into three payments when you order tickets before April 15 by calling (800) MOTORPLEX or by going online here for the fastest race in Texas.

While fans have to be patient and wait for the quickest and fastest form of motorsport to come back to North Texas in the fall, there are marquee events lining up at the Motorplex for the early spring.

Mega Mopar Action’s Mopars at the Motorplex is a celebration of all things Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler. The car show, bracket race (for points), street legal race, swap meet and more will be held March 29. The NHRA Lucas Oil Divisional Series will make its annual stop at Texas Motorplex May 1-4 featuring the best regional racers in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Racers can pre-register with a discount and spectators can buy weekend or single day tickets by clicking here. Friday night will feature racing and a special Pro Mod show. Saturday will feature a concert with the Pontiax and the Midtown Playboys Band. Concert admission is included with each race ticket.

Super Chevy Show tickets are also now on sale! The Bowtie Bonanza includes a car show, Pro Mod Shootout, bracket racing, swap meet and much more and has been expanded to a two-day show, May 17-18 at the Motorplex. ENNIS, Texas (Feb. 25, 2014) – One of the most popular events of each Texas Motorplex season is the Import Face-Off event. It’s not just a car show. It’s not just a race. It’s a complete package of events for Import cars, trucks, motorcycles and the fans who love to be entertained.

Import Face-Off will take over Texas Motorplex on Sunday, March 2 and is open to all imported automotive brands for racing and car show, but there will be a test-n-tune open for all makes and models throughout the day as well, ensuring everyone can play.

Racing and the car show are just two of many events going on during the one-day Import showcase. The Sound Off contest will award Usaci double points for the Stereo Crank It Up contest. Low riders, trucks and sport bikes have their own events and there will be vendors, a midway, live DJ, a burnout contest (time permitting) and much more.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. with racer and car show registration open at 9 a.m. until noon. Car show judging starts at 11 a.m. Heads up qualifying will be at 11 a.m. and noon. Final eliminations start at 1 p.m. and awards ceremony will start at 4:30 p.m.

NEW RELEASE OF NHRA MOBILE APP OFFERS FANS BETTER MOBILE EXPERIENCE

GLENDORA, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2014) – NHRA officials announced today that its legion of fans will have easier access than ever before to obtain live race updates, results, driver bios, schedules and more with the new release of the NHRA mobile app, set to launch today at 10 a.m.app

The new app will be offered in both a 100 percent free version and a premium version.  All of the features and capabilities are the same on both versions of the app, but upgrading from NHRA Mobile (free) to NHRA Premium will offer an ad-free mobile experience for the one-time fee of $2.99.

For fans who have the previous paid app, the NHRA Mobile Premium app will be updated free of charge.

The app, designed by Phunware, the pioneer of Multiscreen as a Service™, will allow fans to be able to follow all of their favorite NHRA drivers as they compete for Mello Yello Drag Racing Series world championships. Fans attending one of the 24 NHRA Mello Yello Series events across the U.S. will be able to get all the information they need right from their phones – at their seats, in the pits or when they are exploring NHRA’s Nitro Alley.
